News + Plans etc April 2018

29177368_1622712451141530_3400791964382134272_nI thought it’s been a while since I’ve kept everyone up to date with some of the things in the works that you can look forward to Martini Whisperer wise.

If you’re a follower of mine on Instagram or Facebook you’ll have noticed that I’ve been very fortunate to be featured in the local media of late, including a very flattering portrait in leading lifestyle magazine, HerCanberra which you can read here.

I’ve also been kept busy with lots of events recently including a spectacular ball at the members only roof terrace at Australia’s Parliament House where I was engaged to create bespoke Martinis for nearly 300 people. Quite the evening, and the catering team and I worked very hard to craft perfect cocktails including a classic Dry, Espresso, and a special creation using McHenry Distillery’s Federation Gin and some special ingredients including an Absinthe aromatic (pictured).

Upcoming Events

I’ve been getting lots of requests to host another series of Martini masterclasses here in the capital, so the details of the next of those will be released soon. But if you want me to come to your location, please get in touch and we’ll see what we can do.

There are also plans for several stylish cocktail soirees to be held in Canberra starting in May which will be very exciting.

I’m also hosting another World Gin Day dinner at Hotel Realm in June in partnership with a global gin brand, so stay tuned!

There is also the launch of the inaugural 2018 Guide to Australian Gin which includes several contributions by myself very soon. This will be a landmark publication and a must-have by Aussie Gin lovers. You can discover more at Gintonica’s website.

Special TV Project

Something  I haven’t said much about to date here is something I’ve been working on for a few years now, a TV project that I’m currently pitching to major networks. It will be a series that will tell the story of Australian craft spirits, cocktail culture and the ecosystem that makes it all possible, starring yours truely.

There’s been lots of research and refinement to date, and its not an easy journey, but I’ve had promising discussions with some key players and we’ll see, things look promising.

But like so many projects, its a matter of timing and finding the right fit, but fingers crossed, I hope to have something more to share in the coming months about it!
