The Martini and Midcentury Modernism are old pals. Just think of the elegant sophistication of the fabulous houses from the 50’s + 60s in Palm Springs or elsewhere, the natural habitat of the Martini.
So I’m thrilled to be part of this year’s Design Canberra Festival program hosting two events on the 16th November. As part of the Festival there is a week’s activity focusing on Modernism being run by Canberra Modern around the iconic University House, at the Australian National University. Martini Masterclass 5pm to 6pm
This exclusive event is limited to 20 people. Join me for a memorable cocktail hour to explore its mysteries, history, and how to craft the perfect cocktail at home. I’ll also share the role of the Martini in adding glamour to the suburban cocktail hour.
Naturally, all that talk of Dry Martinis is sure to make you thirsty and you’ll be able to craft one of your own under my expert eye! Tickets include welcome drink and a Martini.
Cocktail Hour Lifestyle Talk 6.30pm to 8.00pm
The Martini is the most iconic of cocktails, instantly recognisable and evocative. Like modernist design, it’s elements are simple but expressive of time and place.
Naturally, all that talk of Dry Martinis is sure to make you thirsty and Martinis will be available, crafted under my expert eye.
So dress up for a fabulous cocktail party and a very special door prize will also be won by some fortunate person who will win a personalised Martini masterclass by me for up to 6 friends in the comfort of your own home!
