Hi Friends
Time for another update.
Firstly, some good news on my streaming project, Masters of Distilling!
We’ve had very good conversations with a Sydney-based production company (with an Emmy under their belt no less) and they are very keen to work with me to bring it to life. So now all we need to raise the capital for production, we are talking mid to high six figures to do it right for an international market, so that’s my homework right now.
Note, you can find it here on Instagram for production updates. So if now of some venture capital or philanthropic types, or if you like the idea of being an executive producer, please get in touch with me.
I’ve just added several new Australian distillers to the lists on the website, including some New Zealand ones.
So far we have:
- 694 gin makers
- 244 vodka brands
- 89 rum distillers
- 202 Whisky producers and 118 New Zealand gin brands. You’ll find the lists on this page.
By the way, the results are just in for this year’s NZ Craft Spirits Awards, and you can read them here.
In a recent article I mentioned that the rights for Australian Gin Day was for sale, and as of yesterday we closed the deal, and so look out on its social media channels and website for information its new owner and his plans.
Finally, back in June I hosted a marathon World Gin Day live event on my Instagram. It ended up being over 3.5 hours long! Heaps of fun though and we had great conversation with distillers from around the world including two from New Zealand, and the master distiller from Plymouth Gin which was fascinating. I’ve uploaded it now to my YouTube channel and so you can dip into in with a different maker to meet each 30 minutes.
New reviews are in the pipeline too!
Until next time.
