Who doesn’t love a new podcast?

Well recently, I was invited by Melbourne based podcaster Kelly Smith whose series features diverse Australian trailbrazers about their career and how they got there.

And I had interesting chat last week with the Head of TV Production at my friends at Voyage Media about my Masters of Distilling series project.

We were discussing how to move the production financing along some more, and whilst there will be a lot of publicity coming up soon about this in industry magazines and the upcoming Distillers Association conference, which I talked about last time, we are still looking to raise about $150k to get the first episdoes produced- initially for YouTube with very high production values.

But he did say there is another route he was going to explore, getting an Australian celeb attached to the project in some form and he can then “have a different conversation with a streamer here in the US.”

That sounded cool, and he mentioned an A-lister you would know, and that he was meeting his people the next week and would bring it up, no promises though.

So I checked in this week and asked how did it go?

He said they quite liked the concept (better than saying yeah- nah as we say around here) and that if I can land some major sponsorship for the project to come back to them and we can talk some more about getting him on board.

Very cool.

The good news is, that at the conference, besides for 400+ distillers, there will be all the big industry players including international ones related to the spirits industry.

Guess who will be working the expo and conference rooms (we’ll also be showing my pilot to the delegates), so I’m polishing my pitch.
